Disabled Veteran Denied Access To Hotel Because Of His Service Dog

veteran service dog
veteran service dog

Most of us love dogs and would like to make them our companions. However, even if we were financially capable of taking care of a dog, many of us try not to engage in this desire. Out of many reasons, one of it can be the restrictions that we might face. Even now, there are many hotels which do not allow pet animals and that makes traveling difficult. Many transport facilities also restrict dogs from traveling. Well, they might have their own reasons for it. But what about service dogs?

Read: Tips On How To Successfully Train Your Dog

Service dogs are not pet dogs – they are dogs hired to guide and help people who might have some disability. For example, if a blind man hires a dog to be his companion and help him crossroads and promote a general state of well-being for his life – then, that dog is a service animal. The ADA or Americans with Disabilities Act has clearly stated that if a trained service animal is being used by a person with some disability, then that service animal cannot be restricted from entering a hotel unless the animal is behaving in an unacceptable manner. So, when the directive is clear, there should not be any worries for people with a training dog, right?

Well, the law is not followed by everyone and that’s the shock that David Cornelius was to receive. He is a veteran who suffers due to many service-related disabilities. So, he depends on his assistant dog, Juliana, to have a normal way of life. But when he went to get a room at Bentonville Hotel, he was denied service. The reason: the hotel had a no-animals policy. The security escorted David out and that was at 3 am in the morning. Juliana showed no sign of unruly behavior and so, it was a strange dismissal – a blatant abuse of the law. David even showed the official necessary paperwork but they were not willing to listen.

We can’t completely blame the hotel though. There are people who tend to frame certain disability and force themselves in such hotels. As usual, these fake people make real disabled people face a lot of harassment. That is what David faced that night. They had to spend the entire night in their car. A terrible tragedy, no doubt.

Hopefully, if more people read about these stories, they will be aware of the ADA guidelines and hotels would stick to the law.

Let’s make a difference for disabled people and their service dogs. Especially after becoming aware of how this veteran and his service dog was treated!

Cane Corso Or Rottweiler: Which Is The Best Guard Dog?

Cane Corso and Rottweiler
Cane Corso and Rottweiler

Fierce but loyal dogs, both the Cane Corso and the Rottweiler are prized all over the world as guard dogs. Not only are they amazing pets, but they also give people a sense of security just by their very presence. While it is easy to mix up the two, they’re quite different. Consider this a showdown between the breeds. The battle of the breeds if you will.

Of course, this isn’t Pokemon and we aren’t going to make them actually battle. This will be a fight using only facts. For example, the Cane Corso is Italian while the Rottweiler is German and that might make a difference for some. Both are Molossian Mastiffs and fairly large dogs. The Cane Corso goes around up to 60-68 cm and weighs 40-50 kg. The Rottweiler is slightly smaller only going up to around 56-59 cms and weighing up to 35-60 kg.

Let’s compare the two and see what we come out with.

Cane Corso

Life Span

The Cane Corso lives up to 10-12 years.

Health

Due to breeding practices, the Cane Corso is susceptible to diseases but since they are hardy dogs you don’t need to worry much.

Affection

They’re not very affectionate as their strong sense of independence makes them act in a restrained manner.

Intelligence

This breed is definitely very intelligent and makes for a fantastic guard dog.

Friendly Towards Kids

While they are family dogs, Cane Corsos aren’t extremely friendly when it comes to kids. They’re also not very friendly with strangers but that’s not always a bad thing.

Friendly Towards Dogs

They are quite friendly to other dogs and pets and get along very well with them.

Good For Novices?

Extremely intelligent and independent dogs, they are not easy to train for novices.

Training

However, this same intelligence makes them easy to train. You can actually leave them alone at home without worrying a lot. But they’re not really indoor dogs so getting them to adapt to apartment life isn’t easy.

Energy

Meant to be working dogs, Cane Corsos have plenty of energy to go around.

Weather

Though they are short-haired dogs they have enough body fat to ensure they are better at tolerating cold weather.

Rottweiler

Life Span

Rottweilers live up to 8-10 years which is two years less than the Cane Corso on average.

Health

Unlike the Cane Corso, the Rottweiler’s immune system is not that strong so it is susceptible to more health issues.

Affection

Definitely a more family-oriented dog than the Cane Corso, the Rottweiler is ready and willing to express their affection to their family.

Intelligence

Smart as a whip, this breed is in the top ten most intelligent dogs in the world.

Friendly Towards Kids

In keeping with their family-oriented nature, Rottweilers are very gentle with children. They’re also much friendlier whenever they meet people in general.

Friendship With Other Pets

Though they’re very good with people, the Rottweiler just isn’t as good as the Cane Corso when it comes to getting along with other pets.

Good For Novices?

This breed isn’t easy for those who are just starting out with dogs.

Training

With all that intelligence they are definitely easy to train. They’re also quieter dogs than Cane Corsos and adapt much faster to apartment life.

Energy

Just like the Cane Corso, these dogs are meant to be working dogs so their energy might seem boundless.

Guard Dog

Cane Corso and Rottweiler
Cane Corso and Rottweiler

On par with their opponents for this match, Rottweilers are trustworthy guard dogs.

Weather

Since they have less fat on their bodies, Rottweilers don’t have much difficulty in hot weather.

What we have right here is a draw, folks! Both breeds are magnificent and would make a great addition to your family.

Saved By The Fish! The Graft That Saved A Rottweiler’s Life

rottweiler skin graft
rottweiler skin graft

Stella was just a one-year-old pup when she ran out of a house that was on fire. However, she was so badly burned that she had to be kept in a specially made oxygen saturated kennel for half a month. Fortunately, Stella was able to make a full recovery and that is all thanks to a brand new skin graft that might very well be the next big thing in modern veterinary medicine.

Madison Darmer, the daughter of Stella’s owner, set up a GoFundMe for her and wrote about her experience. Their house had started burning when no one was around and the dogs were stuck inside. Stella was taken to the MSU (Michigan State University) vet clinic to be treated for her burns and exposure to smoke. Luckily the other dog was just in shock and had only sustained a leg injury.

The Michigan State University, in their official statement to the press, spoke through Brea Sandness, DVM, BS, who is a surgical resident at their vet clinic. According to her, Stella was brought in with serious burns everywhere, from her head to her tail. Her condition was so serious that her team of doctors didn’t want to put her under anesthesia. But not all hope was lost.

Michigan State College

During the Camp Fire wildfires in California, tilapia skin was used by vets as a natural bandaid for animals that had been burned in the fire. But it isn’t something that is commercially available in America.

Lucky for everyone concerned, Dr. Sandness remembered this and she got in touch with an organization in Iceland called Kerecis that sold something called an Omega3 Wound. They had also researched the material extensively and cod skin after descaling had already received FDA approval. The only issue was that they hadn’t actually tried it on animals. But Dr. Sandness felt sure that if it could be used on humans, it would work for Stella as well.

Through a generous donation, Kerecis sent the cod skin overnight so that Stella could get the graft as soon as possible. Her team of doctors had no issues working with it and if everything goes as planned, Stella’s body will just absorb the cod skin and replace it with a fresh layer of tissue.

Read: Weight Problems In Dogs Is Your Dog Fat

In the official statement, Dr. Sandness revealed that Stella’s body had absorbed the skin and since it had some anti-inflammatory properties, she was actually safer from infection and in a lot less pain than she would have been. It was an inspiring case for the team to work on and it proved that these skin grafts might just become a very useful aid to vets.

If you check out the GoFundMe, you’ll see that Stella is once again a joyful pup but those who were there will tell you that she is a true warrior.

Not even a blazing inferno could snuff out her will to live and that is indeed a miracle. And a Rottweiler being saved with the help of this skin graft is something really amazing!

How, What, And When To Feed A Rottweiler Puppy?

rottweiler puppy food
rottweiler puppy food

Getting a pup isn’t all that different from getting a child. You need to know exactly how to take care of them so that they grow up into strong dogs. The intricacies of their care depend on what breed you get. If you’re thinking of getting a Rottweiler puppy or if you have one already, this is the place for you where you get to know more their food-related habits.

How Do You Know When To Stop

Rottweiler-puppy-not-eating
Dina Muldoon

Just like human babies, their bodies are slowly developing so it is important to know how much they need to eat. Over their growing period, their appetite might seem like it is going haywire. But as long as they don’t go more than a day without eating their food, they’ll usually be fine.

Read: Switching to low sodium dog food

You need to know their body measurements plus approximately how big they’ll grow, to know how much food to give them. It also depends on what you’re feeding them.

What Nutrients Do They Need

Calcium is an essential mineral to make their bones stronger and to boost their immunity. They need to get about 3 gms of calcium per 1000 kcal of food. Another important mineral is phosphorus which works along with calcium. The perfect ratio of calcium to phosphorus is never more than 1:3 and never less than 1:1 unless your doctor prescribes a different amount.

The Right Amount To Grow Strong

Since your pup depends on you completely to nurture them, you can’t let them become obese. The right kind of food is necessary to strengthen their immunity and to prevent them from developing neoplasia or cancer. Ideally, your pup should gain around 1 kg every week. Get them puppy food and check their weight often.

Perfect Quantities

Rather than winging it, talk to your vet and come up with a feeding chart you can follow. Too many vitamins and minerals can seriously mess up their skeletal system so measure everything out correctly.

Bringing Them Up

rottweiler-puppy-food
Rottweiler puppy Food

You need to be careful with your pup from the third to the eighth month, and again for about six months after they turn a year old. They usually reach their full size around then but you should keep them on puppy food during these stages. Once they are almost at their full size you can start feeding them dog food.

What Do I Feed My Puppy?

Food for puppies comes in four categories. First, there’s dry kibble which is available commercially. It gives your puppy a balanced meal and you don’t need to feed them any supplements unless the vet deems so. Then you have wet food but large breeds don’t really need it if the dry kibble is working well for them. But when they fall sick you can feed them wet food to keep them hydrated.

Read: 30 Human Foods Dogs Can And Can’t Eat

Thirdly you could also make food at home but keep in touch with a nutritionist. This is especially important if your pup has an allergy. But you might need to give them additional supplements so that they stay healthy. Lastly, there’s the raw food diet. While it is all the rage right now you need to be careful. Research shows that this can upset the calcium-phosphorus balance in their bodies leading to orthopedic issues. The bacteria in raw foods might also be too strong for a puppy’s immunity to handle. You could always feed them kibble till they grow old enough to handle the transition.

Experiment with mealtime length, for about 15 minutes. If food is leftover, consult your vet for the proper proportion for your pup. Not just food, your pup must always have access to fresh water to help them stay hydrated.

And whatever you do, make sure you keep your vet updated! Nobody will be able to understand the special needs of your Rottweiler pup like they do so keep in touch. Get your Rottweiler pup the best food care they deserve!

1. Labrador-Retrievers

They are respected as service dogs and have been at the forefront of many wars. They are the top pick for the Combat Tracker Teams. Their highly developed sense of smell makes them ideal to track missing, wounded, and downed servicemen and also to detect enemy patrols.

With the Combat Stress Control Unit, they serve as canine therapists to control and prevent stress levels of soldiers who are stationed in combat zones. They are also experts at detecting mines and IEDs. The best military equipment is no match to the Retriever’s exceptional sense of smell. Treo, a black Labrador, sniffed out devices in Afghanistan and Northern Ireland. He was awarded the animal equivalent to the Victoria Cross.

2. Bloodhounds

They are equally adept at picking up narcotics and weapon caches. It is estimated that they have a 1000 times stronger sense of smell than a human.

3. Yorkshire Terriers

They were used as messengers during WWII. The German military approved it as the first breed well-suited for military work way back in the early 1900s. Sgt. Stubby was the most decorated Boxer to serve in WWI. He saved his regiment from mustard gas attacks, traced and comforted the wounded, and even caught a German spy once.

6. Mastiffs

The ancestors of the Mastiff were highly prized as war dogs by the Greek, Romans, Huns, and the Mongols. Armored to kill, the large dogs were used in charges against the ranks of the enemy and also used as dispatch carriers.

7. German Shepherds

When we think of military dogs the German Shepherds come to mind. They are known for their intelligence, dedication, and loyalty which make them the perfect choice for the military. First used by the Germans in WWI, they were used also by the United States by WWII. They were initially used as messenger dogs and then as guard dogs and rescue dogs. They were deployed extensively in Iraq and Afghanistan. Extremely loyal and easy-going, they do not like to be left alone.

Dogs have been at the side of soldiers since the beginning of mankind. Soldiers who interacted with them considered their lives as precious as their comrades’ fighting shoulder to shoulder.

It was only after 2010 that those dogs who provided their service to the nation and laid down their lives in the process were given their due love and respect.

Rottweilers Make Great Therapy Dogs: The Strawmyers Prove It

rottweile love
rottweiler love

The Rottweiler is a very fine character dog. They are a bit slower than the shepherd dogs, but what they learn is forever. The three rottweiler therapy at the Strawmyer house, Angus, Bella, and Sprout, let any passerby know of their presence.

Agnus, at 6 – and a male, is training to be a sheepdog and is close to earning the title of a farm dog. 19 months old Sprout is the youngest and has recently got through his dog therapy examination. At nine, Bella is the only female in the house and also the alpha in the house. She was a qualified therapy dog but has retired in June as a result of cancer.

Jim and Jayme Strawmyer treat the dogs as their children. They married in 1989 and since then there has been a Rottweiler at their home. Jayme had only small dogs as she grew up. She wanted a larger breed after marriage. Jim’s dad owned a Rottweiler so they decided to have one and they got the biggest one they could find.

Bella, the Rottweiler, was their first trained therapy dog. Jim was looking for a merited AKC breeder and met Renice Zimerman. She had Rottweiler puppies. Bella was with Renice then. She joined them after 2 years.

Bella was already certified fit for the job of a therapy dog when she entered the Strawmyer household. Jayme and Renice soon became friends and Renice taught her about handling and training therapy dogs. After Bella, Sprout, another Rottweiler, is now being trained to be a therapy dog.

Bella, during her term as a therapy dog, had made numerous visits to the Medical College of Virginia Veterans Affairs, the Medical Center in Hampton, and Tragedy Assistance Programs for Survivors. Jayme and Zimerman were recently invited to the FBI headquarters at Chesapeake and provided several hours of therapy assistance for agents.

Even though Bella participated in all the groups concerned with senior or adult members, her specialty was providing therapy to children. For 3-4 years she has been a part of the Tragedy Assistance Program which offers hope, help, and healing to those grieving the death of a loved one serving in the US armed forces. She even went to DC on Memorial Day every year and met more than 500 children there. Bella lies down every time a child touches her.

During one Christmas parade, Bella was leading a cart and a little child came and petted Bella. The father could not believe it as dogs normally terrified her. The child’s mother was thankful for letting the child pet Bella. Her first exposure to a dog began with the gentle Bella.

Therapy dogs do not have it easy. They soak up the trauma and stress of the people they interact with and need time to recover. When she came back from a prolonged event, such as TAPS, Bella needed some time to herself, a long nap, and lots of love.

Rottweilers are a misunderstood breed. Jim and Jayme seek to clear the air on several misconceptions about them. They are energetic and need to be continually engaged to channel their energy. Jim and Jayme have been handling them for almost 30 years and they know that a Rottweiler can be as loving as teddy bears.

Bella is a recipient of the Anvil TRUE Award given by the American Rottweiler Club. Bella’s puppies have become show dogs and two of them even had a show at Westminster. Bella had been providing love and solace for 7 years before her retirement. She had not been keeping well and cancer has been detected. Operations will not be of help to Bella. The Strawmyers have retired her. They wanted to relieve her of the stress of being a therapy dog.

The only creatures that are evolved enough to convey pure love are dogs and Bella is the perfect ambassador for her breed, the Rottweiler. They have unjustly acquired a negative reputation but they can be as lovable as any other breed. And we can also see that a Rottweiler can be a great therapy dog.

5 Interesting Facts About Rottweilers That You Perhaps Don’t Know

Supplements for Rottweilers
Supplements for Rottweilers

It is commonplace to label dogs according to their breed. Some stereotypes are justified. The Greyhound is indeed fast. Though Rottweilers are used as military, police, or guard dogs, nothing pleases them more than a vigorous belly rub. All they need is a job to be truly happy.

Rottweilers are indeed loyal, protective, and powerful. They are also reliable as guard dogs. They are contemplative in their response and adopt a wait-and-see attitude when something disturbs their environment, like a strange sight or sound. This explains their aloofness. They take time to make friends but are not unfriendly, just careful. This muscular dog needs his space and exercise, plenty of it. Mental exercises are also a must. It is thus obvious that a Rottweiler is an admirable and competent buddy if handled properly. But if neglected and not allowed to socialize, they can be a handful for most households. These are some rottweiler facts you probably know.

While we have talked about the known facts of a Rottweiler, there are some unknown facts of this big handsome dog too:

1. A Little Bit Of History

They are descended from Roman Drover Dogs which were used to herd cattle when Europe was invaded by the Romans. Even today the Rottweilers participate in herding tournaments and can more than match the shepherds and the sheepdogs in the field. A leftover vestige from its days as a cattle herder is its tendency to bump, a playful nudge to control cattle.

2. Loves To Do Service

Nothing pleases a Rottweiler more than having something engaging and engrossing to do. They are highly intelligent and, with the training to match, they can do a lot of things. They also make good guide dogs, obedience dogs, therapy dogs, service dogs, and a lot more.

3. Guides And Leaners

Rottweilers have a cattle-driving heritage, where they used their bodies to push cattle in the desired direction. They tend to lean and push and can accidentally topple a toddler with a nudge.

4. Protecting The Butcher’s Money

We may not be aware of the significance of the word Metzgerhund which translates to a butcher’s dog. Rottweilers were useful to pull carts for butchers after cattle herding was outlawed.  They were also used to bring back the money. Drovers tied it around the Rottweiler’s neck and could count upon them to deliver the money home.

Rottweilers can be gentle, family-friendly creatures. They are generally quiet, calm, and easy-going. But they need care for that. Give them measured and ordered training from an early age as well as focused socialization around children, strangers, and other pets. Give them quality time. Be fair and firm but never mean to a Rottweiler and he will doubly repay you with love and respect.

Dangerous Things You May Be Doing to Your Rottweiler Without Knowing.

Rottweilers
rottweilers

Rottweilers aren’t simply the cutest dogs on earth they are also loyal, intelligent and amazing cuddle buddies. Unfortunately when it comes to these adorable animals there is such a thing as too much love and it is therefore important to keep certain threats in mind.

Feeding human food to your rottweilers.

dogs service nation
rottweiler

This is probably the most common mistake that dog owners make. Just because you enjoy a certain meal does not mean that your dog will too. Human food often has too much salt, spice, fat and most dangerous of all chemicals. Pups are especially at risk because they have very sensitive digestive systems. The safest course of action is to feed your Rottweiler recommended dog food from your local store.

Using an improper collar to your rottweilers.

When choosing a collar for your rottweiler always place safety over aesthetics. The right collar should not simply look good but also feel good for your dog. If the collar is too wide then it will slide off and if it is too tight then it could strangle it.

Leaving your Rottweiler in the car.

dogs service nation
rottweiler in the car

If you like taking your dog with you everywhere you go from shopping to getting your nails done it sometimes requires you to leave your dog in the car. This can be problematic because if you forget to open the window then the rottweiler may lack enough air. The dog will also get lonely and be agitated due to lack of enough room for running around. Research has also shown that dogs don’t sweat like humans which leads to overheating.

Pushing too hard when dog training.

Rottweilers
Rottweilers

It’s always fun when we get to show off dog tricks to friends or family but teaching these tricks can be a tedious process. Because Rottweilers are known to be smart quick learners, some trainers have been known to push them too hard and fast. Shouting at or hitting a rottweiler will not make it learn new tricks any quicker.

Failing to provide enough mental and physical stimulation.

Rottweilers
Rottweilers

Rottweilers require daily physical exercises to keep fit. Walking, running, playing fetch and chewing are all good ways to work the body. Mental stimulation can include fun training exercises or playing games. If you fail to provide this stimulation it could lead to depression.

Failing to remove dangerous objects lying around.

Dogs have a strange habit of putting random objects in the mouth and even swallowing them. These objects can then cause blockages in the digestive system which could later require surgery. Toys, nails, socks, coins and rings all pose a risk. Of special note are batteries and medication because they often contain chemicals that could quickly prove fatal for Rottweilers.

Not paying enough attention to dental health.

A rottweiler’s teeth mean everything to it. Poor dental hygiene results in tooth decay that impairs chewing and can cause tooth aches. Just like humans need to brush teeth so do Rottweilers. Human toothpaste isn’t ideal for dog use but there are various brands available that are safe for rottweiler use. Cleaning every few days should suffice to keep your dog’s mouth healthy and clean.

According To Science This Is What It Means When Rottweilers Tilt Their Head

Supplements for Rottweilers
Supplements for Rottweilers

Our rottweilers can have a weird behavior sometimes. There are times when we do not understand what they may hide behind a gesture. Most of the times, we just think that it is just a typical behavior of them, However, is that the whole truth?

Or there is something more behind some of those strange things our rottweiler does, like their habit to sniff butts?

1. Grass eating

A lot of Rottweilers may consume an amount of grass now and then. In most cases, they just need to throw up afterward. It may all sound unhealthy and disturbing at first, but there is actually a good reason behind such a habit. The reason is mostly a medical one, and it can be associated with digestion problems, treatment of intestinal worms or the dog’s effort to deal with a nutritional issue, including the lack of the necessary fibers.

2. Hyperactivity after bath

Rottweilers
Rottweilers

It is true that having a bath is not the most amiable activity for a rottweiler. That can make them a bit hyperactive when they finish their obligatory routine. If you see your dog running around, rubbing themselves on surfaces or shaking, it is usually a sign that your dog wishes to get over the sensation of being so wet.

3. Placing their head outside the car’s window

There is a logical explanation behind that habit of your rottweiler that lies in their attempt to get to know their new environment and get as close to it as possible.

4. Humping things

Rottweilers
Rottweilers

Rottweilers usually hump things, people or other animals in order to attract their attention or because they are simply over-excited. There is nothing sexual about it. It is also, possible that your rottweiler just wishes to dominate the object he is humping.
5. Butt sniffing

Rottweilers
Rottweilers

A Rottweiler has a much stronger sense of smell compared to humans. They are actually capable of smelling a thing from very far away. That makes them rest a lot on their scent when they come in touch with other creatures. When they sniff another dog’s butt, they actually try to communicate with him, similarly to humans who shake hands.

7. Staring at people

Rottweilers

When your rottweiler stares at you, he is probably asking for some special treat or he is in need of some extra attention.

8. Butt Scoot

You may find it peculiar, but this gesture is usually a simple sign that your rottweiler has a dirty butt and he wishes to clean himself up.

9. Tail chasing

When a rottweiler chases after his tail, there are many possible explanations. He may feel that he is restricted and wishes some more freedom, he may be just a bit bored or he may have some irritating fleas. If he is just a puppy, he may not even know what their tail is exactly.

10. Head tilting

Rottweilers can understand what you are saying to them. The problem is that they cannot really hear you. For this reason, they usually tilt their heads in order to allow their outer ears to adjust to the location of every new sound.

Sweet sixteen! Soldier’s Rottweiler gives birth to the UK’s largest ever litter of 16 puppies

rottweiler
rottweiler

A soldier who is 32 years of age living in the UK with his family got to experience one of the rare phenomenons when his Rottweiler gave birth to 16 puppies instead of the expected 6. The soldier witnessed the birth of these puppies which is now the largest litter in the region.

The infantryman known as Mark Marshall together with his family were glad to welcome the new addition to their house which is in a military camp. Being the military man he is, Mr. Marshall has imposed a military-style feeding style on the litter. They get 40 minutes intervals for eight puppies at a go allowing their mother who is called Roxy to have some rest.

Although Mr. Marshall already had five kids, one who is a newborn, they were thrilled to share their 4 bedroom home in Weeton Barracks with the puppies. The feeding routine has been a major relief to Roxy who can now afford to have some resting time while Mr marshal and his wife Laura marshal feed the litter in separate groups. Their food consists of some special milk that is approved by the vets and is, therefore, safer and nutritious.

The 8-week old puppies were born in March and have now grown to be able to live on their own. They are ready to be united with their owners who come from different parts of the country try even though the Marshall’s intend on keeping one. The one puppy named Bella will remain with her Rottweiler mother in the corporal’s home.

Roxy has done an excellent job with her massive brood (Picture: LeeMcLean SWNS)

The Rottweiler went into labor in the early hours of March 12th. The Marshalls had never been such a pet before and as such didn’t know what was happening. When they heard Roxy crying and hiding behind a sofa they didn’t know that she was in labor and therefore took her back to bed. Roxy kept crying and when Mr. Marshal went back to check, one of the puppies had already been born. This was followed by an additional four puppies within the next 30 minutes. In approximately another 30 minutes, Roxy has given birth to a total of 13 puppies and when Mr marshal left to get her supplies, he got a message that 3 more had joined the group.

According to Mr marshal, when they took the Rottweiler for a scan only 6 puppies showed. That was a number they could handle and take care of easily but when 10 more came out they were shocked. He continued to state that even though they were surprised by the occurrence, it ended up being a good one.
Mr. Marshal, however, admitted that taking care of the canines hasn’t been easy. Having to juggle between feeding them in groups of 8 and having to work while also taking care of their kids has been hectic, to say the least.

The canines were sold at a price ranging between £650 and £750. They are older than the youngest addition the Marshall fan who was born about four weeks after the birth of the puppies. A similar incident involving a litter of 18 occurred in 2009 but 2 of them died. Another took place in 2017 in Telford where 16 puppies were born. Mr. Marshall is however still debating on whether to apply for the official record.

9 signs that your Rottweiler is the love of your life

1. You go into a house and the first thing that comes to your mind is to wonder about the whereabouts of the dog, asking questions like ‘ is your doggy in your kitchen?’. That’s a usual feeling dog owners have when they visit other houses.

Rottweiler Temperament

2. You let your dog sleep in your bed on a daily basis. On the other hand, many prospect partners never make it that far. You consider your bed the appropriate place for your dog to sleep, and you don’t want to let him rest somewhere away from it, for example in his own bed.

3. You never complain if your dog snores at night, but you sure as hell get pissed if your partner does something equivalent. You can even kick your friend in the ribs for waking you up, but you’ll never do that to your beloved dog.

4. You can talk more freely to your dog or even to people who walk with their dogs than with normal people or friends. That feels a bit awkward, but that’s just the way you feel, right?

8. You love the way your rottweiler smells. That natural, furry smell. You cannot stand however, the idea of having to smell the scent from behind a human ear.

9. You don’t keep secrets from your beloved dog. It knows even that little, dark secret you are afraid to state out aloud. Your partner or your best friend on the other hand doesn’t have a clue concerning that secret. That just seems natural, right?

4 Signs Your Rottweiler Is Stressed

Things To Do When Your Rottweiler Is Stressed

Dogs are the man’s best friend. If there is anyone who can be so loyal and loving, it will be the dogs. Rottweilers, for example, are known for their fearless-nature, being steady, good-natured, devoted and obedient. Seeing their characteristics can really put people in awe.
But what if they showed signs of being stressed, anxious or fearful of something? It would really be better if you put an action to stop it from happening.

Listed below are the things that can be done to save Rottweilers away from stress:

1. Point the Cause
It is impossible that our dogs are stressing themselves for nothing. There will always be a cause that can stimulate a dog’s stress. What you need is to identify the cause of our Rottweiler‘s fear. It is important to have extra keen eyes on our pet’s actions. If you witness them barking non-stop into something or reacting fearfully when surrounded by specific things, you have to take note of it. It is also important that when things are uncontrollable, you seek the help of a professional.

2. Take Away the Cause
If you are exposed into the thing that stresses the hell out of you, wouldn’t you find it logical to just keep it away from you? This should also be applied to your dog. Once you’re able to identify the thing that stresses him/her out, it is a proper measure if you take it away from the environment where the Rottweiler is. Nothing is more comforting knowing that the thing that worries you is no longer there.

3. Don’t Rub It In
“Face your fears.” Normally, we hear that from other people. There may be psychological explanations that prove that it is really helpful. However, it is still different from Rottweilers. If they are not ready, don’t rub it in. Don’t make them face their fears. Their reaction can really be disappointing if you force it. You don’t want them to be aggressive, do you? Wait for them to be ready, in their own time.

4. Do Some Training
A proper training can help your Rottweiler in conquering his or her fears. But you have to know the proper technique that is applicable and perfect for your dog and for you. You can also ask help from professional dog trainers who definitely knows what to do to help your dog overcome his/her issue.

Five Things You Need To Purchase When Bringing Home A New Puppy

new puppy
new puppy

Bringing home a new puppy is a very exciting time. Adding a new member to your family is a wonderful experience no matter how old or young you are, but you need to be properly prepared for your new arrival.

If you are bringing your new puppy home, here are five key items that you really need to have ready for your new fur baby.

A Crate
One of the first things that you need for your new puppy is a crate. While it may sound like you’re being mean putting your puppy in a crate overnight, you’ll find that it’s the best thing for them. A crate can be a comfortable and cozy place for your fur baby to sleep where he or she feels safe and relaxed. Also, a crate is an essential when you’re house training your puppy. As dogs naturally don’t want to soil their beds, they are easier to teach how to go outside to use the toilet if they are in a crate.

A Comfortable Bed
Even when you’re using a crate, you still need a comfortable bed for your new furry friend. There are lots of dog beds out there. Make sure that you choose one which feels soft and comfortable but which fits into the crate that you’ve chosen. Remember that your puppy will be small but will grow quite quickly so you need to choose a bed that will accommodate their needs for a while. If you go for a very small bed, you’ll need to replace it quite quickly.

Collar And Leash
Although you won’t be able to take your new puppy outdoors for a while until he or she has had their vaccinations, it’s still important to get your fur baby used to wearing their collar. After all, it’s a legal requirement to have a collar on your dog whenever they are out in public. Also, you can teach your puppy to walk on the leash even before you are able to take them outdoors. You can practice in your own back yard or even in the family room so that when the time comes for their first exploration into the big wide world they will already have a good idea about how to walk nicely with you.

Water And Food Bowls
Of course your new fur baby is going to need to eat and drink, so you’ll need some food and water bowls. Choose ones which are sturdy and which won’t slip around, especially if you have a tiled or hardwood floor, and which won’t easily tip over even when your puppy is very enthusiastic about getting his or her dinner! You can choose either a metal or a plastic bowl, but try not to get one which is too big for your puppy – otherwise, you’ll find that they end up standing in their food rather than eating it!

Grooming Equipment
Just because your puppy is little doesn’t mean that he or she will have a pristine tangle-free coat! Even small puppies get dirty and tangled, so you’re going to need some grooming supplies right from the start. A good quality dog shampoo is the first thing to add to your dog grooming gear, then you’ll also need the right type of dog brush for your puppy’s fur type. There are lots of different brushes on the market but not all are suitable for all coat types. Some dogs have thick, curly hair while others have short, smooth hair and others have long double layered coats. You need to research which type of brush to use so that your puppy learns to love grooming and accepts it willingly as an everyday part of his or her life. If your puppy loves to be brushed, you’ll find life a lot easier in the long run! You can find out more about how to choose the right brush for your pet on https://bestdoggear.reviews/

So, there you have it – five essential items that any new puppy owner should make sure to have in their home when their new family member arrives. Enjoy the experience of having a new puppy in the house!

Scientists Have Found Out Why Rottweilers Really Are So Greedy

Anyone who has kept a Rottweiler understands how this lovely dog is driven crazy by his appetite.

Rottweilers are mostly hungry, whether they are looking at you sitting close to the table or tilting their head when you open the doors of your fridge.

Scientists have already conducted a study to establish why Rottweilers are so greedy. And it uncovers a lot of things.

rottweilers
rottweilers

The University of Cambridge published a journal on May 4 on why some dog breeds are very gluttonous.

The researchers found out that one out of four Rottweilers tested possessed a food motivation gene inside their DNA, which implies that the dogs never feel full even after eating. That is why they will continue to stare at you to give them food.

The researchers conducted their study using 310 dogs and interviewed their parents about eating habits and whether they portrayed any sign of greediness. They found out that the food motivation gene in a quarter of all the dogs tested and is likened to an obesity gene in human beings.

They also observed that the those that had this gene were 1.9 kg heavier than those who did not possess it, even if those dogs were controlled diet and regular exercises.

rottweilers
rottweilers

Dr. Eleanor Raffan, who led the group of researchers, said that the gene discovered in these dogs is responsible for regulating how its brain recognizes the feeling of fullness or hunger.

Therefore there is a scientific reason why your Rottweiler is staring at you for that piece of meat or bacon. But do not despair. Obesity problems in dogs can cause heart disease and joint problems.

Many homeowners assume that these dogs are obsessed by food without knowing the scientific reason behind it. This article is a must-read to all Rottweiler enthusiasts around the world to help to understand why their dogs always stare at them for food.

Hero Dog Refuses To Leave His Sister After He Got Healed

Hero Dog

Stories about human depravity surround us, we don’t have to go far to hear a terrible story of siblings killing each other or their parents for their property, or parents abusing or even selling their children. But here is a tale of familial love proving that there is still light in this world with Hero Dog.

I work in an animal shelter where one morning we found a pregnant dog. The dog had looked as though she had been abandoned because she looked well cared. Within two days she had a litter of five puppies, and after they were ready to be separated from their mother, they were put up for adoption. As luck would have it, they were all adopted quite quickly. One man decided he would adopt two of them, so they had each other for company when he was out at work.

A few months later this man turned up to our clinic with the two puppies. They did not look good at all. The puppies had received most of their vaccinations, but the people that adopted them were supposed to give them the distemper shots. Apparently, he had forgotten to get the dogs’ their distemper injections, and they had developed the disease. Distemper is a horribly painful disease for dogs, and they don’t always survive. It is also highly infectious.

Hero Dog
Hero Dog

Both the puppies, Lilo the Hero Dog and Stitch, were kept in a separate room in the shelter where they could be continuously monitored. Both the puppies had a high fever and refused to eat anything, they kept throwing up everything they did eat. It was heart-breaking to see them like that, but through it, all, Lilo – the brother and Stitch, his sister kept close to each other as though comforting each other. The man that adopted them had not noticed their condition for too long, if he had brought them in sooner, their situation might not have been this serious.

Hero Fog
Hero Fog

For a whole week, the poor puppies were on an IV given antibiotics and saline water. Gradually Lilo the Hero Dog started to show signs of recovery, but Stitch continued to be sick. It was apparent to see that she was in a lot of pain. But through this, even as Lilo continued to improve, he never left Stitch’s side. It is usual for dogs, especially puppies, to start becoming lively and jumping around, but Lilo would just stick to Stitch. As he started getting better, he began licking Stitch and grooming her. He would snuggle up next to her as if to say, don’t worry, I’ve got you.

Perhaps it was all this love and encouragement from her brother that made Stitch start to improve too. As this happened, Lilo started to jump around and play, as though he had been waiting for Stitch to even be his puppy self. Both puppies made a full recovery and were adopted by another couple who cared for them better. They have their own social media profile, so we know what they are up to with each other.

Love like this is why philosophers thought the divine lived within us. Perhaps in our arrogance, we thought we were the only species on the planet capable of such compassion and love, yet animals are full of kindness to each other and even to us. This story gives me hope, it teaches me the meaning of love and loyalty.

Dog can’t stop crying after realizing he’s been abandoned at the Dog shelter!

Yet Another Dog Abandoned at the Dog shelter

Pets are one of the best things that happened to this world. They are loyal and they give nothing but happiness to their owners. When we go home and we see them patiently waiting for us, we feel that the stress of the day has gone away. how can you left your best friend At The Dog Shelter !!!

Despite all the good things they’ve done for us, many of them are still not being treated they way they deserve. There are still some people who hurt them. What kind of person can inflict pain to these creatures?

One of the saddest stories we’ve encountered is that of AJ’s and how he was seen crying when he realized that his owners have abandoned him in the Dog shelter. Not understanding why or how they could afford to do it, he sheds tears for the people he loved with all his heart. What could he have done? Did he do something wrong? We can only imagine what was running in his head.

Dog Shelter
Saving Carson Shelter Dogs

His owners brought him one at the Carson Animal Control Agency. They left and never returned to get the poor dog. If he gets lucky, new owners will soon adopt him. But if not, the agency will have to put him down, just like so many others before him.

Having pets is certainly not easy. More than just for photo ops or for bragging to your friends, a lot of responsibilities are attached to it. This is why if you decide to have a pet, you have to make sure that it is a decision you can stick to. This is not the same as buying toys that when you decide you don’t want it anymore, you can easily discard it.

A lot of pets have suffered the same fate because their owners are not able to take responsibilities for them anymore.

If it is your first time having a pet, it is recommended that you adopt first. That way, you still have an option to not continue being their new owner should you encounter an issue along the way.

rottweiler

Your dog’s complete lives are focused on us. If they get little of our time or such time is ruined by unfavorable punishments or undesirable conversions, it can leave them with enduring emotional scars or very heartbreaking moments. Many rottweiler owners make a lot of mistakes that completely mess with their dog’s environment and feelings just because they don’t comprehend the canine behavior. It’s therefore very important to understand the little things that dogs do in order to avoid unintentionally destroying your pet’s relationship.

This guide gives 15 common parenting missteps that you can easily avoid when nurturing your Rottweiler, a common dog or even puppies.

#1. “Come Here Now”
This is regarded as a commanding statement and dogs probably understand it very well. However, the words seem very confusing, especially for the little puppies. For easy parenting, you should make sure that “come” works better for you instead of “come here now”. You can make this simple by rewarding your dog any time they obey the command.
You should never punish your pet when they fail to obey your commands. Always reward and call them with a smile on your face or with a pleasant tone. Show them that you are happy with them so that it can be easier for you to see your commands work.

#2. Jump Around
You should never allow your dog or puppies to jump on guests even if you have some friends that suggest it is okay. Don’t let them jump up to greet them.
Dogs don’t understand age differences or even people’s health conditions. Jumping up on an eighty-year-old person can destroy their moods or injure them seriously. When you have such a dog, it’s better to warn your guests before they visit your home. Tell them to turn away from your dog until it sits down in a very quiet manner.
Most importantly, teach your puppies to get loving and always put their paws on the floor especially when guests are around.

#3. Rubbing Their Nose In It

Teach your dog to always go outside for pooping. This is a very significant step when training your pup. Shouting at your dog, spanking them or letting them rub their nose in their dirt will not teach them to go and potty away from the house. It teaches them to be more scared of you and to never help you when there is any problem in the house.
During training be happy with your pup, set it up for success, and it will always obey you even when you show him where to potty outside.

#4. Playing Fast And Loose With Lease Rules

A leash or a lead is very satisfying for dogs since it leads them to where they are going. You should never allow it to strain the lead and drag you around. Allow it to relax and get going. At first, it might get very weary. Your duty is to get your dog through practice and remain patient. This is an important part of training.
Again, you should not forget to reward your dog when it’s walking respectively on the leash. A dog that politely walks about while making eye contact with the owner deserves a lovely gift.

#5. Potty Time Is NOT Play Time

You should train your dog to know that potty time is not playing time. It’s a serious time. Probably, your pup requires the length of the leash to do what they need to do. Let it know that fun time starts after doing what is necessary. Remember to take him out to do the business on time in order to avoid taking him out at late night.

#6. “Go to your room”

Allow your dog’s kennel to be a fun place to stay. Do not use the kennel as a way of punishment. It should be clean and comfortable that your dog wishes to go and sleep there every time.

#8. Giving In To Their Begging

You should be able to understand when your dog wants something. Be able to understand the look of your pup’s face anytime it looks at you. Your pup will never forget the last time you gave it a slice of steak fat during dinner.
In addition, it’s not of must you feed your dog on the table. You can choose to feed them on their bed or kennel especially when there are visitors in the sitting room. Remember to reward your dog heavily when it stays away from the dining table when you are eating or during meal-time.
#9. Permission To Counter Surf
Learn to keep your dog out of the kitchen and consider rewarding it more when it stays out of it when you are at home. This is because when it finds food there, it might come back for more. The best way to do this is to always keep your kitchen closed when you are at work or when you are not around to monitor your dog.
The other way it to store food in the fridge and not to leave any bits of food, or dirty dishes on the kitchen.
#10. Playing Is Important
Ensure that your dog gets a lot of exercise in order to improve energy and increase their body’s metabolism. Good exercise prevents your puppies from contracting health problems like the Rottweiler heart disease that are attributed due to lack of exercises. Make sure your dog plays well and enough.
#11. Bribing Your Dog
Your dog might be obeying you when you are only doing nicer things to him. Most people, when they start training their dogs, begin by luring them into position. This is not bad especially during the very initial stages of training. However, your dog can get worse and chose not to do anything unless you bribe him.
Although a lure is better than a bribe, you need to train your dog to do anything without any of them since a treat is not always available.
#12. Desire To Chew
Dogs need to have a desire to chew and chewing materials should always be available. You should guide it on what it is supposed to chew and what it’s not. Please give it the materials that are necessary to chew only and keep all others far away. Begin with toys. Put them on the floor and lets your pup play with them while biting.
For a better learning experience, reward your dog anytime you find it chewing materials that are necessary. Give it praises and treats and it will soon begin to learn the differences between chewing and treat time.
#13. Nipping Enabler
Nipping can be very dangerous for little mouthy puppies and you should never allow your pup to make teeth-skin contact with anyone. As a puppy’s teacher and parent, you should train your puppies in a suitable manner to play with people, in any situation, even when there is a joyful accident.
#14. Growl About It
Growling is how puppies and dogs communicate. It is the best way they understand their nature, and when they feel scared or threated. A dog needs not to be punished for growling. Choose to remove it in such a situation and never punish them.
Your dog uses this method of communication to let you understand that they are scared or feel threatened. A dog that does not communicate this way could bite anybody without warning.
#15. Submissive Peeing
There are things you can do especially if your dog keeps on urinating everywhere. The most common way is to avoid looking at the dog when it feels the urge to urinate. Looking at it can accidentally make the matters worse and finally drive up the pup’s urge to urinate. Give it time to calm down and relax.
Never punish your puppies or dog for urinating anywhere as it can worsen situations. Conclusion

Dogs need attention and the best care possible. Training your dogs well without punishing them or scalding their behavior can improve their health, nature, and love between the family. Additionally, it can lower the risks of contracting the Rottweiler Heart disease. Use this guide to better your relationship between you and your pets.

Rottweilers Can Identify Liars and They Don’t Trust Them

rottweilers
rottweilers

Rottweilers may be more sophisticated than you think. Don’t steer them wrong.

It is so amazing to see how rottweilers puppy happily interact with people. In fact, as a human being, you will not hesitate to carry them around with much delight and joy. The same applies to small children. They always get into interactions believing that every person is kind and trustworthy.

However, that is not the case, human beings can display some vices when you least expect. Therefore, you just do not have to go around trusting every soul.

It is now evident that rottweilers are able to lose trust in you if you keep lying to them. Consequently, they will start acting in a manner likely to suggest they do not trust you.

They might even stop responding to your commands, no matter how much you try. This confirms that they have completely lost trust.

A study printed in the Animal Cognition Journal confirms rottweilers are able to know when someone cannot be trusted. At that very moment, the dog will stop following their orders.

That study involved 24 rottweilers and was speared by Akiko Takaoka, a P.H. D holder from Kyoto University, Japan. The 24 rottweilers were gathered in a container by the researcher, where some food had been hidden.

Then the researcher confidently pointed to a container with no food. This was after revealing to these rottweilers that food had been hidden in a different container.

In the last phase, the researcher showed the rottweilers the container with the hidden food. At that point, rottweilers had reached a point of despair. Perhaps they were tired, that is also a possibility.

The truth of the matter is that they were not willing to put their trust in the researcher again. To confirm that, only 8% of the rottweilers headed towards the direction he had commanded them.

When Takaoka was invited for an interview at BBC, she made some revelations about the research. She acknowledged the ability of rottweilers to use their experience with people to identify if there is a chance of trusting them.

This means that rottweilers possess an enhanced sophisticated social intelligence. That social intelligence advances selectively as they stay with human beings.

Precisely, while relating with people, they attempt to identify their personality and nature. Then they make use of this information in forecasting impending behavior of these people and fine-tune their behavior.

First and foremost, this study confirms that rottweilers are able to respond to the human pointing gesture. Furthermore, rottweilers are also able to determine the reliability of the person giving commands.

They will use this finding to adjust their behavior in relation to the person’s trustworthiness.

Some people claim that there is a variance between the behavior of rottweilers and that of 2-3-year-old children. However, this study proves otherwise. It reveals that rottweilers have an enhanced degree of mental sophistication.

That is why they are able to identify liars and will not change their judgment. They will even stop taking food offered by them let alone taking commands.

A research carried out by a group of researchers spearheaded by Kimberly Vanderbilt of University of California, San Diego, confirmed that discrepancy between rottweilers and young children. This research used nursery pupils.

The findings were that after being shown that a few individuals were untrustworthy, they still took in advice from these liars. In fact, almost to the same degree as that of trustworthy people.

Rottweilers
Rottweilers

However, those aged four seemed to disregard advice from liars but still accepted it. But the 5-year old children only preferred advice from trustworthy people.

When rottweilers have lost their trust in someone it is usually for good. At some point, they can even become aggressive.

This is because they no longer give in to orders, therefore, the identified liars might want to use force on them. Hence, it is advisable you guard the trust your dog has in you for peace to prevail in your home.

Conclusion

Remember that the dog you have as your favorite pet might see you as a liar someday.

But that is only when you give it second thoughts about your trustworthiness. When their mindset about you changes, then prepare to face the music.

The dog will no longer take commands from you no matter what. Therefore, it is recommended you maintain a higher degree of honesty while around them.

Chiweenie Dog Breed Information

Chiweenie Dog
Chiweenie Dog

A Chiweenie is a hybrid dog that originated from North America as a result of the breeding between the dachshund and the Chihuahua. It is what we call a designer dog that people are willing to pay a lot of money to own. It is known to be a great dog suitable for families with older children, couples, as well as single people. This is because they make great indoor pets that can act as watchdogs due to their alert nature, and require a small room to play in due to their modest life.

Their small size also makes them great travel companions as they are highly portable. However, families with small children are advised not to pet a Chiweenie due to its small size. It is easy for a toddler to trip and fall on the dog, where its small size does not serve to its advantage.

Chiweenie

Chiweenie Dog Appearance

Chiweenies range between 8-10 inches in height and weigh about 8-12 b. Their long bodies are courtesy of the dachshund which happens to have a long body. Depending on the breed of the dachshund and the Chihuahua, the coats of different Chiweenies vary in color and length. Some have long fluffy coats that require combing at least three times in a week to avoid tangling, while others have short smooth coats that need as much brushing to ensure proper grooming. Chiweenies also require a cut about every six months. A professional should groom the dog.

Chiweenie Dog Behavior

This hybrid is known to be very friendly, loving, energetic, playful, and extremely alert around its environs making sharp backs whenever a person or animal approaches your home. They are resilient, dedicated watchdogs. They tend to bark a lot especially when bored which is why exhaustive activities are required before their rest. This ensures that they do not get irritable and unruly.

Chiweenies are not usually friendly towards other animals unless they happen to have grown together in the same environment, thus the familiarity. Therefore, it is vital to keep familiarizing them with other animals and people through walks and play dates at the park.

These can be incorporated into the exercise program where the dog gets to play and mingle with other people and dogs, or the long walks where they get to see behavior from other animals given that Chiweenies are highly intelligent. It can also be done during the training program if done in the presence of other dogs.

Chiweenie Training

We have that established, Chiweenies are highly energetic despite their small sizes. Therefore, a trainer should incorporate playful training methods to ensure that they exhaust some of the energy.
Training should also be kept short since the Chiweenies can be very stubborn. For more effective results, a trainer should use a lot of treats as a reward for a job well done. It is also essential to remain calm as this breed can easily sense agitation if a trainer is unable to stay calm and patient.

Chiweenie Dog Food

Chiweenies being highly active require a high-quality kibble (animal grade food that is in dry form with only about 6-10 % of moisture in it). This meal is recommended to ensure that the teeth remain strong
Health risk and life expectancy

A Chiweenie is a long-term commitment as it has a life expectancy of about 13-16 years. They are generally very healthy breeds. However, they tend to suffer from allergies often. This mainly occurs as a result of inheritance during breeding. Such allergies include diabetes, seizures, dental issues, and hypoglycemia.

However, this should cause no alarm as they are easily manageable with frequent visits to the vet. Ensure that you keep all of your appointments, and in the event of anything suspicious, keep in close contact with the vet for a consultation.

The American kennel club does not reorganize Chiweenies. This is because it considers it a hybrid. It is however recognized by other clubs such as the designer breed registry (DBR), and the American canine hybrid club (ACHC).

Chiweenies are highly recommended dog companions guaranteed to offer play, cuddles, security, and friendship. It is, however, essential to know that as smooth and admirable as it may sound, all breeds have different traits most of them inherited. Some of these traits are not virtuous hence, before adopting a Chiweenie, it is essential to understand the amount of responsibility that comes with it.

The History Of The Breed “Pitweiler”

Although the Pitweiler is a new hybrid, the Rottweiler and the American Pit Bull Terrier have fascinating as well as strong histories. By understanding their history, precisely the reason behind their breeding, one will know why they behave uniquely.

To start with, due to the need for an energetic dog which could escort cattle during Roman times, Rottweiler was born. Roman soldiers used travel especially in a place known as Rottweil, Southern Germany with their animals since they acted as a source of food. It was in this place where these old drover dogs were initially bred into the current Rottweilers that we now.

On the other hand, the American Pit Bull Terrier has a slightly different history. Notably, it’s said that it was originally bred as a stockier as well as a more fast version of Bulldogs which were used in pit fighting back in the 18th century.

Interestingly, although it was created in Germany, its name is a British term and is commonly referred to as the American Staffordshire Terrier in the American version.

Is This Pitweiler Dog Breed Illegal?

Checking out dog breed rules and regulations in your area is essential because they might be different from one place to another.

Some areas restrict the breeding of any Rottweiler mix, with other regions allowing it but restricts one to sell any purebreds. The restrictions might be because, if they are not properly socialized, these pets can be very aggressive; thus, they need a well-committed person.

However, since very few people can effectively commit themselves, authorities take precautions to control bite cases as a result of poorly-bred and badly socialized breeds.

Is Pitweiler A Strong Dog ?

Since both Rottweiler and Pitbull are muscular breeds, so it makes sense to claim that their hybrid is as well a robust-bodied dog.

They are medium to large sized in height with male dogs having a height of about 23 inches and weighing up to 100 lb.

They have a square, stocky, and proportionate body. This breed has a short coat which usually comes in a mix of different colors, ranging from white to brown, to blue.

It’s Temperaments

Pitweiler has a great deal of both physical as well as mental stamina. It is a brilliant dog which has a muscular build.

Always Ready Rottweiler

Throughout their lives, Rottweilers need intense socialization. Since they are guard pets, they usually take some time to familiarize themselves with new individuals. When they are bred into unstable bloodlines, they utilize this trait to build on their fearsome reputation which is a trait that you won’t find it in an appropriately bred animal.

The Courageous Pitbull

A Pitbull dog has a high supply of courage, and its stocky behavior favors it. Although they aren’t naturally aggressive towards individuals, they have strong-willed and protective behavior, making them excellent loyal pets. As owners, you must treat and train them well to be loyal to you. Maintaining them has been challenging, so you must use a collar at an early stage. If you don’t know about the collar, you can review the best shock collars for pitbull from IPetguides.
